From VO
“We need more kindness, more
compassion, more joy, more laughter. I definitely want to contribute to that.”
(Ellen DeGeneres). This quote really stuck out to me because it is one that I
have heard a good amount of my life and chose to live by. I always believed
that people should spread love, not hate. At Veterans village I helped out by
contributing my own time and money into seeing joy in others. No amount of time or money could make up how happy I was to be helping out I started off by
buying 5 pizza pies and handed them out slice by slice to each Veteran who
walked through the doors. It was really rewarding to be able to see how
grateful they were.
I used my core values and beliefs in
a meaningful way. I was always raised to give back and help out with my
community, especially to those who are in need. Veterans have risked
their lives to help save and serve our country and I could not be more grateful
to them for all they have done.
Others should always find a way to
contribute. By helping out your community and helping out those in need there
is never a more fulfilling feeling than that. It always feels good to give back
and be able to realize by helping out with one small thing you could make one
person or more’s day or even week.
