Claim Your Ancestor #55: Painted the Freedman's Bank in Washington DC

Dear Student,

Right before I found this record, I found another one that had your family buying 80 acres in Leon County in 1868, right next to Joseph Alton's place (wherever that is? have you heard of it?).

Then I found this in the Freedman's Bank Records -- and OMG everyone should read these records they are tremendously precious and crucial part of our history, large and small   -- that your ancestor Frank Wanzer painted the Freedman's Bureau building in Washington DC!!

Historical Marker

I am not sure if this is the building because the building was burnt down.... we can research it.

I am almost afraid to see how the Compromise of 1877 and the end of Reconstruction affected this awesome man's life and livelihood.

You should investigate!!!
