Claim Your Ancestor: Story #3: Sleeping in on Sunday

Her maiden name is Jane Cole, and she lives in a colonial New England village that most likely was highly involved with whale hunting. About 300 years ago, she slept in on a Sunday and got in trouble.

Perhaps her husband was gone for months and is finally home, so she skipped church. Maybe it was too cold outside, maybe snow drifts blocked her path.   I hope she got away with just a small fine or something.  You should go investigate.
