The two most common questions students ask me about the first writing assignment -- typing lecture notes into a narrative -- are "Do we need to double space?" (my answer? whatever spacing you like is fine, I'm not controlling) and "How do I start?"
My answer? The way to start is to start.
Just get typing.
Stop not starting and get started.
If you hit a bump, write something like (find out about Shadrach*----) and keep going.
Keep going until you finish one complete draft, put it down for awhile, then *please* proofread for things like spelling and capitalization.
Also, please underline, highlight or bold all the key terms/phrases from the study guide.
Make sure your essay is in YOUR words. I will subtract your similarity rating (what turnitin.com shows me after it compares your narrative to all former essays and online sources etc) from your grade.
