The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. - M. Gandhi
There is nothing more gratifying and nobler than serving our veterans, who epitomize the height of service and sacrifice to the country, in order to keep us safe and be able to enjoy the freedom and the liberty that we hold so dear. Our men and women who have served our country in the armed forces deserve not just our praise, but every support we could render. They made the ultimate sacrifice at the battle field; given their lives, and those that made it back home carry the potential burden of post-traumatic stress.
Making and carrying food to the veteran village to feed our veterans was a humbling experience for me. It was a great coming up-close and serving these brave men and women food and drinks. The smiles on their faces and the gratitude shown for our gesture and service, really made me feel happy. I felt humbled, yet great being at the service of others, taking care of people, and putting smiles on their faces.
In line with my career path to eventually be a nurse practitioner, I want to give myself to taking care of people, to be an advocate for the needy and vulnerable in society.
