Claim Your Ancestor #19: The Shakers of Turtle Creek

Is your ancestor Maynard Lawson Walcott?   I found this story attached to his record about growing upon Turtle Creek, Ohio -- the great west of the early 1800s, scorching with religious fires from the Second Great Awakening.

I can only imagine your ancestors were also on fire with religion, they just didn't choose to live the Shaker life of celibacy and gender segregation,  or you wouldn't be here.

You should investigate!
